Deirdre Murphy

Deirdre is a highly regarded immigration lawyer with extensive experience advising top-tier corporate clients on all aspects of UK business immigration law. Having worked for leading law firms in London for the majority of her career, Deirdre now resides in Boston, Massachusetts.

After completing her law degree at Queen’s University in Northern Ireland, Deirdre began her legal career in London with an international law firm. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2006, and subsequently became licensed as a lawyer both in Ireland and the United States.

Deirdre has experience managing a diverse client base including multi-national corporations, SMEs, start-ups, individuals and families. Her areas of expertise include assisting clients with sponsor licences and advising on Tier 2 applications. As compliance is a key issue for UK employers, Deirdre undertakes in-depth audits and provides tailored advice to ensure full compliance, both with sponsor obligations and the prevention of illegal working regulations.

In a constantly changing legal landscape, Deirdre provides timely, strategic and concise advice. She counselled clients through the complex process of Brexit, giving regular updates on the shifting timelines and requirements for foreign nationals to maintain legal status in the UK.
Relationship building is one of Deirdre’s strengths. She enjoys engaging with clients on a regular basis, getting to know their business and devising solutions to address their immigration needs.

Deirdre is a dual US and Irish citizen, as well as a first-generation American. Given her background and experience of living abroad, she understands the challenges and rewards of being an expat. In addition to her technical knowledge, Deirdre brings a personal touch to her legal practice, endeavoring to simplify and streamline the immigration process for her clients.
